This paper discusses the rise of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal politics. The BJP traces its origins to Jana Sangh, which Shyama Prasad Mukherjee founded 1951. finally came into existence on April 6, 1980. In 1980s, made political debut assembly and panchayat polls. Local elections were more successful for party than elections. Over time, began perform well, increasing vote share at a steady pace. 2014 2019 Lok Sabha Bengal, performed well increased by fending off Communists Congress. article also examines several other factors responsible emergence such as Ram Janmabhoomi movement 1990s alliance with TMC 1998. has been trying mobilize Hindu voters popularising slogans festivals. concludes that will attempt increase next consolidating support across all regions Bengal.
